Let's Go Bowling by Charlene Aber
LET’S GO BOWLING!
Have you ever been bowling? But you say, “I don’t know how to bowl. Everyone will laugh at me when I throw gutter balls.†It takes a lot of gutter balls before you will perfect your game and start rolling strikes and spares. You need to gain confidence in your bowling style and feel comfortable when you bowl in order to have fun and improve your game. Bowling is inexpensive for a night of fun and laughs with your friends or family. You will be pleasantly surprised at how much fun bowling can be when you get together with your friends or family to bowl a few games. Most bowling centers are family oriented so bring your kids with you to open bowl. There are bumper bowling for the wee ones. They have youth bowling leagues, high school leagues and elementary leagues. They have volunteers that learn how to coach your children to bowl the right way from the start.
At your local bowling center, you can rent bowling shoes and find a bowling ball that you would like to use for a night’s of bowling. Then you can find a pair of open bowling lanes to start having fun bowling.
“What do I do now?â€, you ask? You can roll quite a few practice balls to see if you can keep the ball in the middle of the lanes. Now you can ask for pins and start bowling. You get 2 balls per frame, unless you knock down all 10 pins with one ball and this is called a strike. A spare uses 2 balls to knock down all 10 pins. If your ball goes in the channel on either side of the lanes, you have rolled a gutter ball. There are 10 frames in a game of bowling.
Keeping score can be very simple. A strike counts as 10 plus the next 2 balls. A spare counts as 10 pins plus the next ball. Someone is usually bowling who could help you keep score, if you don’t think you know how. Here is a source that I think you will gain a lot of knowledge about learning to keep score in bowling. Now that you have bowled a couple of games and had a whole lot of fun doing it,you will want to bowl over and over again. Let’s go bowling and meet your family or friends at your local bowling center to bowl a few games and have fun! Let's Go Bowling
