7 Secrets of Tennis Forehand by Najib Meleschi
7 Secrets of Tennis Forehand
The tennis forehand is probably the most used shot in the game of tennis and is often a weapon for many people. Because of this, I would highly recommend having a decent forehand at the very least. Having a great forehand can be easy with a few tips and a little practice because there are things that coaches and really good players wont tell you to try and make a quick buck or beat you in a match.
1.Get to the ball early in proper position. By this I mean to really focus on where your feet are in relation to where the next ball will be. Also get your racket back as early as possible, preferably as soon as the ball comes off your opponents racket. This requires practice and just hitting a ton of balls to learn to judge if the ball is going to be short (inside serving box) or long (past serving box). Learning to move forward or backwards enough so the ball drops in your exact comfort zone is key to hitting a consistent forehand. If at any time during a rally you have to lean in any direction to hit the ball, you're not in the proper place.
2. Get a full extension of your arm. This means that each and every time hit the ball you should be to the left of the ball (for right handed players) enough to get a full extension of your arm. If you're too close to the ball it will cramp your arm trying to hit it and you wont be able to direct it properly.
3. Experiment with the different grips until you find the best one for you. Most recreational players and new players use the eastern forehand grip which is the standard basic forehand grip. I'm gonna give you one of the biggest secrets of the tennis forehand right now. Most if not every player in the top 10 in the world do NOT use this grip. They use the semi-western forehand grip. This grip allows you to hit flat shots and topspin very comfortably with the same contact point although many people find it awkward at first. It's so universal and extremely helpful. It can truly be the one thing you need to take your forehand to the next level.
4. Hit the ball in front of your body at all times about half a foot to a foot depending on the height of the ball. If you hit the ball even with the side of your body of slightly behind you its late. Hitting late will cause you to hit the ball into the net or off-court to the left of right.
5. Your racket face should facing downward at the floor during your back swing. This is because when you swing you racket face naturally opens up and if its already open during your back swing it can cause you to hit the ball long.
6. Transfer your body weight to your front foot during your shot. If you hit the ball off of your back foot then your body is off balance and you can't control the ball as well as if you lean into the shot with all of your weight.
7.Practice secrets of tennis forehand at least for one hour every day when weather permits. If you have the luxury of a handball or racket ball court in your area to practice how to do backhand in tennis it's even better because you don't need a hitting partner. I promise you that within one week of doing this you'll improve and within one month you'll want to thank me.

Three Principles for Practicing Judo by Jimmy Cox
Three Principles for Practicing Judo by Jimmy Cox
Even a black belt judo man sometimes makes the mistake of trying to apply a throw before breaking his opponent's posture. If the opponent is also a black belt holder, he will react quickly to prevent the other man from applying a throw directly. Therefore the problem of how to break your opponent's posture is the first thing that must be studied.
A. Break your opponent's posture before applying your throw: kuzushi (unbalancing opponent).
It was Dr. Jigoro Kano who discovered this principle. In reporting his discovery, he said: 'Mr. Iikubo was over fifty years old at the time, but he was still strong, and I used to work with him often. Although I practiced my technique industriously, I could never vie with him. I think it was about 1885 that I found, while practicing randori (free practice) with him, that the techniques I tried were extremely effective. Usually it had been he who threw me. Now, instead of being thrown, I was throwing him with increasing regularity. I could do this despite the fact that he was of the Kito-ryu school and was especially adept at throwing techniques.
"The crux of my study was that a human body would lose its balance if it was only pushed backward or pulled forward. A carelessly standing man, however large and strong, leans backward if pushed from the front and forward if pulled to the front; his posture is broken. A strong opponent, however, may be able to resist your pushing and pulling. Even so, you can easily break his posture backward if you push him backward when he pulls you forward, or pull him forward when he pushes you backward. It must be emphasized that the throw to be applied is effective only when the opponent has lost his balance.
"I told Mr. Iikubo about this, explaining that the throw should be applied after one has broken the opponent's posture. Then he said to me: 'This is right. I am afraid I have nothing more to teach you. From now on, you should continue your study with younger men. I will no longer practice with you.' And he has refrained from practicing with me since. Soon afterward, I was initiated in the mystery of the Kito-ryu jujitsu and received all his books and manuscripts of the school."
B. Take advantage of the waist and abdominal region.
To apply a throw successfully, you must break your opponent's posture. To do this, you must take advantage of his long reaction time. This is done by harmonizing your motion with his. You can develop this ability through long practice. You must harmonize your motion with his, making thorough use of the forces working on you and your opponent.
You can break his posture and apply your throw with success. What is it that gives your actions vitality or life? It is the force of the waist and abdominal region, technically called the correct centripetal pressure.
C. Practice judo in a natural posture.
1. The natural posture is best for practicing judo.
It is clear that the natural posture is the best position for practicing judo (in throwing techniques) because it is the most convenient for a change in position and direction. This is a standing position with feet forming a 90 degree angle.
2. Grappling techniques require a different type of posture.
In throwing, you apply techniques by taking a standing posture. But grappling is done in a prone position, or at least with one knee placed on the mat. Free and easy motions are largely limited for you as well as for your opponent. So "gentleness" or "giving way" is not so evident as it is in throwing. A lower center of gravity and a large base mean shackled motions.
These are the three very important principles in the art and science of judo.

Who's the MAN? PACQUIAO or MAYWEATHER by Joed G. Inocellas
Who's the MAN? PACQUIAO or MAYWEATHER by Joed G. Inocellas
In the world of boxing, Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather are two of the best pound for pound, but who is really the NO.1? Many boxing analyst argued about this. So let's have a clear look at these two warriors of the ring. First, we have the reigning "Fighter of the Year" Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao. Manny rose to star dome when he demolished the "Baby Face Assassin" Marco Antonio Barrera with a devastating 11th round TKO. Barrera was at his peak when he was defeated by the "Pacman" .Manny executed a lot of vicious barrages of punches that came from all angles with extreme speed that became his trademark. Because of that, Manny receive the award "Fighter of the Year", "Upset of the Year" and "Ring Magazine People’s Featherweight Champion", beating by votes, Roy Jones Jr. and Lenox Lewis. But before that, Manny was already a 2-time world champion, beating Chartchai Sasakul to win the WBC Super Flyweight belt and defeating Lehlohonolo Ledwaba to grabbed the IBF Junior Featherweight crown. He did it all by knockouts. After the big win over Barrera, Manny's next big fight was against Juan Manuel “Dinamita†Marquez .There fight ended with a controversial draw. Marquez was down three times in the very first round but recovered and unbelievably salvage a draw. Then Erik “El Terrible†Morales came. There first meeting became a bloody mess. Pacquiao had a big cut that put him trouble and causing Morales to win via unanimous decision. But there second fight was a complete opposite of the first, for Pacquiao dominated the fight and knockout Morales in the 10th round .It was really a sweet revenge for Pacquiao. There trilogy came and as expected it became a short night. Morales was knockout in the 3rd round. It only confirms that Pacquiao was the better fighter among the two. Recently, Pacquiao defeated Barrera again in there rematch via unanimous decision. Manny Pacquiao is known all over the world, for his fascinating and entertaining fighting style. He got the aggressiveness, the speed, the power, and we know that Pacquiao’s style will not be boxing, ITS GONNA BE FIGHTING!!!
On the other hand, let’s have the undefeated champion, Floyd “Pretty Boy†Mayweather Jr. Though his clever style is not so entertaining and has less punching power, he is on the top because he accomplished his entire mission. He got his first world title belt after beating Genaro Hernandez and becoming the WBC junior lightweight champion. Mayweather first big fight was against Diego Corrales. That was the greatest fight of Mayweather because he really destroyed Corrales. Corrales got a series of knockdowns and in round 10, he was technically knockout. Then he captured his IBF junior lightweight belt by defeating Carlos “Famoso†Hernandez via unanimous decision. In the lightwelterweight division Mayweather win four title belts by crushing down Jose Louis Castillo twice, Victoriano Sosa and Phillip Ndou. Maywearther then move up to junior welterweight division. He became the WBC junior welterweight champion by beating Arturo Gatti. In the welterweight division, he beat Zab Judah and owned the IBF and vacant IBO Welterweight crowns by unanimous decision. He ultimately defeated Carlos Baldomer also via unanimous decision to hold WBC welterweight belt. His previous fight was against Oscar De La Hoya. He moved up to superwelterweight division just to fight the Golden Boy and surprisingly won by a controversial unanimous decision. It was controversial because Mayweather was outbox by De La Hoya but still managed to win the judges scorecards. Even his own father, Floyd Mayweather Sr. admitted that Oscar really won the fight.
Now who side are you? PACQUIAO or MAYWEATHER? If you want an explosive and entertaining fighter, you will vote for the Pacman. But if you go for a scientific boxer, your on for the Pretty Boy.

Planning a Fun, Cheap, Ski Vacation by Aaron Jochum
Planning a Fun, Cheap, Ski Vacation by Aaron Jochum
Every year it seems to become more expensive to take an enjoyable ski trip with the family. The combination of airplane fares, hotel and lodging rates, ski rental prices and lift ticket prices can strain the family's vacation budget.
But there are still time honored ways of saving money on ski trips if you plan ahead.
1. Make Your Ski Plans Early
The best ski bargains for the winter come in the spring. And it's mostly true that the good deals go first. Running a ski resort is a risky business because you are depending on a certain number of snow days in order for the season to be profitable. Trusting in the weather is a big risk. To offset that risk a bit, in the spring, many ski resorts will offer deep discounted tickets for the upcoming fall season. That way they guarantee themselves a cushion and are able to survive if a season is particularly bad from a snow standpoint.
In addition, many ski resorts will not only offer ticket discounts. They will also offer air fare and room discounts.
Buying early is a bit of a risk, of course. Your plans may change, emergencies may pop up and so on. But these days with all the different avenues to resell tickets and vacation packages, the risk is probably minimal.
2. Make Your Ski Plans late
Ski resorts and hotels hate last minute cancellations, but they are a business fact of life. If you are in a position to leave your vacation plans flexible, you can take advantage of their misfortune. In fact, an entire business model has sprung up around the idea of packaging last minute deals for customers. You can find many sites on the Internet selling last minute deals. Even a multi-million dollar company like Travelocity has a special section on their site where they offer "Last Minute Packages".
3. Find Yourself Some Ski Coupons
This is so easy and almost painless. Many online companies have very nicely put together great package deals that they are willing to offer you if you simply print and use their coupon. You can find discount coupons for lift tickets, lodging and accommodations, season passes, ski classes, travel, restaurants and almost any vacation activity you can think of.
4. Take Your Ski Vacation Off Season
If you want the best deals, go when the crowds are at low ebb. For ski resorts, the beginning of the ski season and the tail end of the ski season are their low points. These are the times when you can find the best deals. Also from a purely sports standpoint, these are the times when you'll get the most ski runs in for your money. Do you hate long ski lines? Well you won't be waiting 5 minutes, 10 minutes, or more in line waiting to go up the ski lift. You'll make your downhill run and ski directly back to the lift with no waiting.
These, of course, are not the only ways to save money on your ski vacation. They are simply some of the easiest ones to take advantage of without much effort and inconvenience on your part.

Making Waves in Waikiki: Hawaii's Surfing Heritage by Adam Singleton
Making Waves in Waikiki: Hawaii's Surfing Heritage by Adam Singleton
The Hawaiians are credited with being the fathers of surfing, and are known to have practiced the sport as early as the 15th century AD. The Hawaiian name for surfing "He'enalu" - can be translated as wave sliding. During its early history, surfing was taken as a sacred practice and only those with a high social status could take part; in other words - Hawaiian kings and queens were surfers. Ironically, today, surfing is seen by the general population as a sport for those who have dropped out of society, the very opposite to how it began.
As a people living on a cluster of small islands in a very big sea, the Hawaiians were not surprisingly fascinated by the ocean, and attached great meaning to its moods and forms. In a similar way to which the Inuit are said to have many names for snow, the Hawaiians also have hundreds of words to describe the various forms of the ever changing sea.
Just as modern day surf bums insist on surfing as a lifestyle rather than just a sport and thus devote great portions of time and money to the pursuit of the waves, Hawaiians also found unfathomable bounds with the practise, as the writings of Kepelino Keauokalani, a 19th Century Hawaiian Scholar, shows in his observations of the local Hawaiian surfers:
"All thought of work is at the end, only that of sport is left. The wife may go hungry, the children, the whole family, but the head of the house does not care. He is all for sport, that is his food. All day there is nothing but surfing. Many go out surfing as early as four in the morning: men, women, children."
